OG3NE represented The Netherlands this year with their song “Lights and Shadows” and placed 11th. After this years Eurovision some gossips started to come. Dutch singer Alain Clark said something about his wish to enter Eurovision.

He said in an interview with nu.nl: I am always available for the Eurovision Song Contest, although for me the emphasis right now is on my new album. But if they want me, they have my number.”

We don’t know which selection the channel AVROTROS will use but it’s likely to be internal selection. In past few years, The Netherlands managed to make good results with internally selected artists and songs.

Alain Clark is famous singer in the Netherlands. His best known song named “Father & Friend” and it’s a duet with his father Dane Clarke.

We heard and we saw his name about Eurovision before. He came as a potential competitor in 2015 but wasn’t selected by AVROTROS. (Trintje Oosterhuis represented the Netherlands with “Walk Along”).

He also worked with the trio OG3NE this year. He had taken part in songwriting session and helped OG3NE.

Furthermore, official confirmation about participation is yet to come from AVROTROS, but we think that they’ll continue participating Eurovision.

In last 5 years, the best result of them came from The Common Linnets with “Calm After The Storm” and they finished 2nd, behind Conchita Wurst of Austria.

What do you think? Should Netherlands continue selecting internally or should they organize a national final?
