Eurovisiondream okuyucuları için 2020 Eurovision Çocuk Şarkı Yarışması’nda “Chasing Sunsets” şarkısıyla Malta’yı temsil eden ve güçlü vokalleriyle harika işler başaran 9 yaşındaki Chanel Monseigneur’la röportaj yaptık. İyi okumalar.

Evet, her zaman hayalimdi! Hem çocuk hem de yetişkin yayınlarını izlediğimi hatırladığımdan beri!
Kendini tanıtır mısın?
Annem, babam ve sevimli kardeşim Luigi’yle yaşıyorum 🙂 Mosta, Malta’da. 9 yaşındayım.
Nasıl şarkı söylemeye başladın?
Annem konuşmaya başladığımdan beri şarkı söylediğimi söylüyor. 🙂 Ben 7 yaşındayken babam, bana şan dersi aldırmaları gerektiğini söyleyen birine videomu gösterdi. O günden beri hiç arkama bakmadım ve şan derslerini çok dikkate almaya başladım. 🙂
En büyük ilham kaynağın nedir?
Demi Lovato ve Lady Gaga bana müzikleriyle çok ilham veriyor, onlar inanılmaz söz yazarları, şarkıcılar ve oyuncular!
Şarkın “Chasing Sunsets” senin için ne anlama geliyor? Şarkını nasıl tarif edersin?
“Chasing Sunsets”in anlamı benim için büyük çünkü o benim ilk orijinal şarkım. Aynı zamanda kuzenim Aleandro bestecilerden biriydi, onun dışında arkadaşım Emil söz yazarıydı ve besteyi yapan ve beni kesinlikle inanılmaz olan şarkılarına giriş yapmak için teşvik eden Peter ve Joe’yla Aleandro’ydu. Şarkı, bazen uzakta ve imkansız olan hayallerini kovalamak hakkında, pes etmemek için. Çünkü sonuçta hayat böyledir. Özellikle bu COVID döneminde bir umut mesajı vermek ve insanların zor zamanlarda bile hayallerini takip etmesine yardım etmek istedik.
Evde karantina zamanlarını nasıl geçirdin?
Bir karantina dönemimiz oldu, ama şimdi her ne kadar gruplaşarak ve kalabalık olmasa da dışarı çıkabiliyoruz. Partileri ve arkadaşlarımı özledim ve zamanımın çoğunu çok sevdiğim iki hobimle geçirdim -kısa hikayeler yazmak ve suluboyayla aklıma gelen şeyleri boyamak- ayrıca kitap da okudum ve çok fazla yemek yaptık. 🙂 Şimdi omlet yapmada uzmanım! 🙂
Bildiğin gibi bu sene seçilen slogan “Move The World (Dünyayı Hareket Ettir)”. Bir çocuk olarak dünyayı hareket ettirmek için ne yapman gerektiğini düşünüyorsun?
Bence dünyayı herkese göre iyi bir yere getirebilmek için daha çok gülümsemeliyiz, ne olursa olsun pozitif olmalıyız ve yardıma ihtiyacı olanlara yardım etmeliyiz.
En büyük hayalin nedir?
Londra’ya müzik okumaya gitmek ve neticesinde bir müzikal veya büyük bir filmde rol almak!
29 Kasım’da yayınlanacak performansından ne beklemeliyiz?
Performansım sırasında arkamda zaten yayınlanmış olan çizgi videoyu göreceksiniz ve umarım en iyi performansımı vereceğim!! Eminim özellikle çocuklar performansımı sevecek!
Eurovision’ın yetişkin versiyonuyla ilgileniyor musun? Büyüdüğünde, şansın olduğunda Malta’yı temsil eder misin?
Eveeettt!!!!! Tabii ki de!! Bu yıl benim çocuk olanı için ilk denememdi, yani hala bunun için birkaç yılım daha var!

NASIL OYLARIM?

Bu yıl gerçekleşecek Eurovision Çocuk Şarkı Yarışması, 29 Kasım Pazar günü Türkiye saatiyle 19.00’de başlayacak. Yarışma Junior Eurovision Youtube kanalından canlı olarak yayınlanacak. Eurovision tarihinde ilk defa, COVID pandemisi sebebiyle daha önceden kaydedilmiş performanslar yarışacak.

We interviewed 9-year old girl who does great things with her strong vocals and represents Malta at 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Constest with the song “Chasing Sunsets”, Chanel Monseigneur. Enjoy reading!
Firstly, thank you so much for accepting our interview request Chanel. Congratulations on representing Malta at Junior Eurovision 2020! Have you always wanted to take part in Junior Eurovision?
Yes it has always been my dream! As I have been watching it for as long as I can remember both junior and adult editions!
Could you introduce yourself?
I live with my mum and dad and my cute brother Luigi 🙂 in Mosta, Malta. I’m 9 years old.
How did you started singing?
I was always singing since I started talking my mum says 🙂 … when I was almost 7 years my dad showed a video of me singing to someone, who told him that they should take me to singing lessons …. from then I never looked back and started taking vocal lessons very seriously 🙂
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Demi Lovato and Lady Gaga inspire me a lot, through their music, they are amazing song-writers, singers and actors!
What does your song “Chasing Sunsets” mean to you? How would you describe your song?
Chasing Sunsets means a lot to me, because it is my first original song, I had my cousin Aleandro as one of the composers as well, apart from my friend Emil who is the lyricist, and Peter and Joe with Aleandro who composed the music and encouraged me to give my input in its production, which was absolutely amazing! The song is about chasing your dreams, even if they seem far and impossible at times, to never give up because that is what life is all about after all. Especially during this COVID period, we wanted to give a message of hope and to help people to keep following their dreams even through difficult times!
How did you spend your quarantine times at home?
We had a period of lockdown, but now we can go out, although still not in groups, and no crowds. I missed parties and my friends and spent most of the time doing two hobbies which I love a lot – writing short stories and painting with watercolours whatever comes to mind, did some reading too, and we did a lot of cooking 🙂 Now I am an expert at doing omelettes 🙂
As you know, the selected slogan for this year is “Move The World”. What do you think you should do as a child to move the world?
I think that to move the world to become a better place for everyone, we should smile more, be positive no matter what, and help those in need.
What is your biggest dream?
To go to London study music, and eventually be part of a musical or big movie!
What should we expect from your Junior Eurovision performance which will be released on 29th November?
During my performance you will see behind me the cartoon video, which is already out, and I hope that I will give the best performance ever!! I am sure that children especially will love it!
Are you interested in the adult version of Eurovision? If you get a chance when you’re older, would you represent Malta?
Yessss!!!!!! of course!! This year it was my first try for the Junior so still have a few years more for that!

Adult – Michela Pace with Cameleon (Malta)

HOW TO VOTE?
The voting system is the same as last 3 years’ free-voting system. You can vote twice -before the show and after the show-. In one periot of voting time you can vote for 3 countries including your own country. No matter where you come from, you can still vote on the official voting screen. Both online voting and jury voting determine the outcome of the competition.
This year, Junior Eurovision Song Contest is on November 29th. It will be aired on the official Junior Eurovision Youtube channel at 17:00 CET. For the first time in Eurovision history, performances which are recorded before the show day will be competed.
